Alyssa grew up in Southern California and has always had a passion for animals. As a child, she owned dogs, cats, rats, reptiles, and even tarantulas! She decided to pursue a career working with animals and attended California State University, Northridge, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, specializing in Ecology and Evolution. While pursuing her degree, Alyssa worked at VetCo Affordable Healthcare, a mobile vaccination clinic that works to provide vaccinations and other medical care to dogs and cats. Her love for conservation and wildlife and wanting to teach others inspired her to apply to Wildlife Learning Center, where she loves working hands-on with a variety of exotic animals. Her long-term goals are to attend graduate school and receive a Master’s in Conservation or Ecology and work alongside the National Park Service or U.S. Fish and Wildlife to help conserve state and national parks.
