Ashley grew up in Southern California, surrounded by animals. As a teenager, she became involved with Guide Dogs of America as well as a dog shelter, which inspired her to pursue a career working with animals. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly Pomona, originally studying to become a veterinarian. However, she decided that zoology was her greatest passion and ended up graduating with a B.S. in biology with an emphasis in zoology. During her time in Pomona, Ashley worked in the research vivarium on campus, assisting with the husbandry of reptiles. She also assisted in giving tours about the science and history of the Cal Poly campus. Ashley started as an intern at Wildlife Learning Center, and was eventually hired as a wildlife biologist after her 6-month internship. Wildlife Learning Center has allowed Ashley to truly follow her passion for working with animals.
